Since its inception in 1916, the heart of Fruitfed Supplies’ business has been the provision of various horticultural inputs to growers around the country.
Fruitfed Supplies is the horticultural division of New Zealand’s largest agricultural sector supplier, PGG Wrightson Limited, the only one of its kind operating nationwide.
With 19 service centres across New Zealand’s major horticultural regions, each branch is staffed by a professional, well-qualified team of customer service and field representatives. While the nature of our products and services has changed a little over the past 90-plus years, our people continue to aim to offer growers unprecedented levels of technical support, product knowledge and service.
Our long-standing relationships with leading horticultural product manufacturers has led to many of these suppliers offering Fruitfed Supplies exclusive rights to sell their products in New Zealand. For example, we are pleased to hold the sole New Zealand distribution rights for the world-class Orchard-Rite wind machine which has proven its worth in its native North America and in our own frost-prone regions. Our extensive product range includes fertilisers and other plant nutrients, crop protection products, organic pest and disease control, pruning, harvesting & safety gear and irrigation materials. We also stock a range of machinery from well-known manufacturers like Croplands as well as specialised supplies for greenhouses and wine-making.
Our representatives, whether in the branch or in the field, are the real force behind Fruitfed Supplies’ success. With ongoing training in areas like pest and disease identification and crop nutrition planning, our representatives are able to provide clients with access to Fruitfed Supplies-only resources like current season spray programmes and our monthly Facts newsletter. They can also arrange a number of out-sourced services for growers, such as leaf and soil tests.
Add in our highly-skilled irrigation, crop monitoring and technical teams and Fruitfed Supplies can literally be a one-stop-shop for any commercially-focused horticulturist.
Our Irrigation division offers a comprehensive range of services and products – from identifying a suitable water source to full irrigation and frost fighting system design and installation projects for both horticultural and agricultural purposes.
